How to make an oven cleaner based on natural products?

Having a good oven cleaner is essential today, since the oven is the most likely dirty appliance in the kitchen . It is usually filled with grease and substances inside, and if not cleaned often can fill the house with smoke every time it is used and even change the aroma and cooking time of the food.

Depending on the frequency of use and the type of food being cooked, the time interval between each cleaning should vary. The most common is once a month to prevent the accumulation of dirt.

Another important point is to try not to always use chemical products for cleaning and disinfection, as they are very efficient, but can cause skin damage and will help reduce the strong ecological impact generated by the most polluting products.

Yeast is a product that is widely used for the preparation of doughs and breads, and is formed by a unicellular fungus that produces enzymes capable of decomposing various organic bodies into simpler ones. Taking advantage of this feature, you can create a product for cleaning the ovens.

What is needed:

  • Yeast powder (100 grams)
  • Water (1 liter)
  • Spray bottle (1)
  • A dish towel or sponge
  • Vinegar (250 ml)
  • Container (1)

How does it apply:

  • First, remove all the grills and supports that are inside the oven.
  • Then, take the container and place the yeast (100 grams).
  • Add water (2 tablespoons) to the yeast and form a paste.
  • Next, spread the paste throughout the interior of the oven. It is important to cover the entire surface. The yeast will change color to brown.
  • Leave on for 12 hours.
  • Wipe with a damp cloth, trying to remove most of the yeast. It is likely that there are remains that will be removed later.
  • Next, take the sprayer and pour the vinegar (250 ml).
  • Apply vinegar on the remains of yeast (in this way a foam will form).
  • Then, remove the foam with a damp cloth. This will remove the remnants of yeast that were attached to the vinegar.
  • Place the supports and grills that were removed.
  • Finally, turn the oven on low for 30 minutes to dry it.

Baking and bicarbonate-based oven cleaner

The bicarbonate is an excellent product for cleaning. It is quite abrasive, which helps eliminate difficult stains, and also deodorizes, since it absorbs odors. If combined with vinegar, a degreasing agent that removes oil and dirt without damaging it, we will obtain an excellent all-natural product for cleaning the oven.
