Tips for teeth whitening

The teeth lose their white color with the passage of time, by the action of tobacco, by drinks such as wine, coffee or tea, or by the action of certain foods that tend to stain or yellow the teeth ; this is why it is essential to maintain good dental health , to keep them white and bright, such as brushing teeth after meals and before going to bed, flossing every day and not drinking too many drinks, such as coffee, wine, tea or other foods that can stain the teeth.


Some foods act as natural abrasives and help clean teeth by removing surface stains, such as celery , apples and carrots, that make your teeth look cleaner. Vegetables, such as broccoli , kale and spinach, contain mineral compounds that form a film on the surface of the teeth, and act as a barrier to staining foods.


If you are trying to whiten your teeth, avoid foods such as dark chocolate, stews, tomato sauce, beets , marinades, cranberries and soy sauce. The same happens with drinks, avoid coffee, tea, dark sodas and red wine.


Sodium bicarbonate is used to clean and lighten stains, and makes them look whiter ; can cause tooth sensitivity in teeth, so you should only brush them with baking soda once a week.


You must use hydrogen peroxide of 10 volumes maximum ; wash your teeth as usual and rinse your mouth with hydrogen peroxide for about ten seconds, and rinse your mouth. Perform once a week before going to bed.

You can submerge a swab in hydrogen peroxide and rub on the surface of the teeth; It can not enter the interdental spaces, but it can increase the whitening of the visible surfaces of the teeth. Use once a week, so as not to damage the tooth enamel.


The lemon has an acid base that makes it suitable for removing stains from the teeth. Form a paste with lemon juice and a pinch of salt, and rub the teeth with the mixture, to remove dark spots. The disadvantage is that you should not use it too often, since its acidic properties can damage the tooth enamel; use it once a week.


Orange peel is a popular remedy that is used as a whitening agent to lighten teeth. You must rub the inside of the orange peel on the teeth to remove dark spots.


White vinegar and apple cider vinegar also contain natural whitening agents, which can remove stains from your teeth , but you should use them once a week, as prolonged use can damage your tooth enamel.
